Mallard Cove is a fully modernized, two bedroom cottage with all new electric and plumbing. There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the cottage and no pets are allowed in the cottage or on the property grounds.

The cottage is environmentally safe, free of any deodorizers, fragranced products or fragranced air fresheners, so it is suitable for people with environmental allergies or who may be chemically sensitive. It is located directly on Lake Algonquin in the town of Wells, New York, in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. It's just minutes from state and private cross country and downhill ski resorts, as well as hiking and snowmobile trails.

There is a free of charge, paved public boat launch and a beautiful, sandy, public beach. The view of the Adirondack Mountains from the cottage is beautiful. Both bedrooms have a full size bed. The cottage can sleep two couples or a small family comfortably. The bathroom is equipped with a sink, toilet and shower enclosure. The cottage has a thirty gallon hot water tank, so there is an ample supply of hot water.

The living room and kitchen is one large open area. The cottage comes fully equipped with towels, sheets, and a fully equipped kitchen with stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and microwave oven, dishes, utensils, and pots and pans.

Renters only need to bring their clothes and groceries. If you want to enjoy a real vacation and don't feel like cooking, there is a binder in the cottage, which contains menus from most of the local restaurants (prices subject to change). There is a combination color TV and VCR, which is hooked up to cable TV at no additional charge.

On the lake side of the cottage there is a glass-enclosed front room with two sofas and a dining area. There is a nine-foot wide French door in the glass-enclosed front room that leads out to a large 12' x 24' deck overlooking the lake. Enjoy the outdoor fireplace, which is perfect for evening campfires. Firewood and phone hook-up are available for a nominal additional charge.

Mallard Cove is only rented during the months of October to April. In the fall, you can enjoy the beautiful and brightly colored foliage of the mountains and the beautifully groomed state hiking trails. The cottage is the perfect winter getaway for those who love to snowmobile, hike with snowshoes, downhill or cross country ski, or just snuggle up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa.
